Profile:
Dr. Baljeet Singh Dhillon is the eldest son of Risaldar/Nb. Sub. Sucha
Singh Dhillon- a retired Army man associated with 4th Hodson's Horse
of the Indian Army. Did his schooling at Rajkiya High School, Dhanaula
Distt. Sangrur (State merit Scholarship holder), pre-medical education
at Khalsa College Amritsar. A Medical graduate & post graduate
from Govt. Medical College, Amritsar [M.B.B.S & M.S (Ophthalmology)]
; P.G Diploma in Hospital Management from National Institute of Health
& Family Welfare, New Delhi; served the state health services
cadre in rural & urban areas under P.C.M.S cadre for 9 years,
thereafter joined the state medical college cadre (P.M.E.S-I) and
currently working as Associate Professor-Ophthalmology.
Areas
of Interest: Pediatric Ophthalmology, Community Ophthalmology,
Squint, Pterygium, Glaucoma, Cornea.
Currently
External Examiner for three reputed Universities in Ophthalmology
for M.B.B.S.
So far guided 17 Masters degree (M.S) research students. Having a
wide ranging teaching experience of teaching M.B.B.S students, P.G
students, Diploma, Ophthalmic technicians, Nurses & Health Workers.
Attended more than 20 International, National and Regional Conferences
on Ophthalmology & health care. Published/presented more than
25 research papers and written/published numerous articles; 4 different
books on Eye care and Punjabi short stories. A keen writer and a good
speaker has participated and presented numerous talks on Health and
Eye care on Radio and Television.
